Eliza Jervis-Read is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) with over 12 years experience. She has worked in a range of settings, including two major Victorian hospitals, community services and private practice.
Throughout her career Eliza has maintained a focus and a special interest in the dietary management of gastrointestinal disorders. Her expertise includes, but is not limited to: irritable bowel syndrome, bowel incontinence, food intolerance i.e. fructose and lactose malabsorption, coeliac disease, diverticular disease, gastroparesis, and post stomach or bowel surgery.
Symptoms such as diarrhoea, constipation, abdominal bloating and excess wind negatively affect a person’s quality of life. Assisting her clients to eliminate or minimise these unpleasant symptoms is Eliza’s passion. Other professional goals include helping her clients achieve a positive relationship with food and maximising their health through simple, healthy eating.
Other areas of practice include working with clients to optimise their health and energy levels, weight management, reducing high cholesterol, reducing high blood pressure and treating pre-diabetes.
Eliza practices evidence based diet therapies and is happy to answer questions and dispel myths surrounding popular or fad diets. She is highly skilled in communicating specialist dietary advice in a user-friendly and practical manner. She works with her clients to identify their individual goals to ensure the consultation meets their requirements.
Eliza absolutely loves to prepare, cook and eat good food. She believes a healthier, enjoyable diet is possible for everyone.
