Dr Fiona Kerr, osteopath, graduated from RMIT University with a double degree in Bachelor of Health Science (Complementary Medicine) and Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy). Fiona’s passion for Osteopathy began at school where her strong involvement in rowing lead to an interest in injury prevention and management. During her time rowing she experienced a couple of injuries herself which sparked her interest in the field. Through osteopathy, Fiona now places an emphasis on injury prevention in her treatments by having a focus on her patient’s overall health and wellbeing.
During her time studying, Fiona worked as a sports trainer for four seasons at an amateur football club where she continued to expand her knowledge of sporting injuries while gaining key experience in the field. She witnessed a large number of injuries in her time at the club and enjoyed working first hand in the immediate treatment as well as working with the players to establish a rehab program while also ensuring their bodies were in optimal structure and function to avoid further damage.
Fiona encourages her patients to play an active role in their own health in both management of injury and preventive measures, and is committed to keeping patients fully informed to achieve this.
Fiona has undergone further study into the use of dry needling and cupping techniques and uses these to further complement her treatment style. She enjoys treating the wide variety of conditions that present to Osteopaths and is committed to providing individual treatments that suit each patient’s needs.
Fiona is delighted to be a part of the team at Head to Toe Healthcare and is available for consultations on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays.
